The volunteer positions available at the ReggaeTown Festival are wide and varied, and offer the volunteer a chance to learn, develop and hone skills in staged events. For 4 hours of your time, or more if you can spare, we will provide you with a ticket for the event.

Position Purpose

Your purpose as a Festival Crew Volunteer is to form a team to work together, assisting wherever possible and contributing to creating a safe, harassment free environment for all ages, genders and cultural backgrounds. You will assist in the efficient management of the event, ensuring it runs smoothly and closes on a successful note. Volunteers are the life-blood and stars of any event, an integral part of every aspect of the show. By applying commitment to all duties assigned to you and following guidelines set in place, you will achieve your purpose as a Volunteer and have great time while giving back to the community.  Whatever your strengths may be, enthusiasm and commitment are great and contagious ones to foster and bring to any event so if that’s you, come along and join in the fun. 

Volunteer Induction and Event Information 

The 2007 ReggaeTown Festival will be held at the Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park, Kamerunga Rd, Smithfield. The festival will run from 11am till 11pm, these are the hours volunteers will work around, in allocated time slots. We are looking to fill 30 positions to do various jobs on the day. The Bump In and Bump Out crews and some drivers will bein place up to 3 hours either side of the stated hours of 11am/11pm. COMPULSORY Induction for volunteers will be held 2 days prior to the Festival.

Volunteer Positions Available

Drivers, Site Crew, Handy man jobs

NOTE : Current Licenses in place. Deliveries, prefer own vehicle. Pick ups and drop off’s  Mainly off  site driving 

Set up Planning, erecting decorations, General site décor maintenance, Check Lighting for pathways, Runners, Stage hands 

Hospitality – fun and friendly bubby jobs,  Spotters (light site security team) Meet and Greet public and Artist with  Arm band application, Distribution of programs, Merchandise stalls, Comp Lists 

Green Room – food prep and serve, Massage artists,  Security Points Observation of site, Watching perimetres for free-loaders, Assisting management, Entrance/Exits Backup to security guards 

Domestic Duties house keeping,  Bump in Bump out crews – strong man jobs

Empty bins, pick up rubbish, Clean and freshen toilets NOTE : no need for cleaning permanent facilities ONLY :  temporary facilities (portables) Empty bins, Clean and refill toilet rolls,  Lug equipment, Delivering site decorations, Ice, food, equipment, stage, instruments, etc, Banners, flags, signage, Roping, furniture. Late Night Shift - WHATEVER !

Creative Artistic Crew: General all star Help anyone on staff with anything they need at any given time or specified time frames only!

Visualize conceptualize Paint decorate create Flower/weaving/colors/ Evelyn sculptures General beautifying and comfort fluffing
